Salami

I have waited (sometimes in vain) for Badgers in the dark of Lancashire and Devon woodlands and also tried to spot Beavers by night in the latter county (again in vain but the hunting is part of the enjoyment).   And I have even told storied of my Highland Haggis hunts.  But now I have a new target – to see the free-range Salami wandering around Gloucestershire.  I wonder if they are woodland or hedgerow creatures?

  1. I wonder what happens when a free range salami meets a free range egg. Will they get along, fight or simply ignore each other?

    1. They get on all right, I checked. It's when a salami meets a wandering haggis on a dark night that blood is spilled...

  4. Seems to be something special. Food outlets just mushroom as cooking at home is a luxury! Nicely John!

  6. That free range salami would be in trouble with all the gun-toting hunters that we have in Georgia!
    You are so funny.

  7. I can't help you here. We no longer have free range salami in the States, and more's the pity. I think it was back around 1957 or so when they first reintroduced bologna to the range, and that error in sound judgement had the expected results - as even the skeptics know now, you cannot have bologna and salami on the same range.

If you have the opportunity to write about the free range salami dining experience, please don't hold back. I've never tried it and I don't see the import law changing anytime soon, and my European travel fund has been depleted by quarterly income taxes.

  8. Free range salami are longer, with a bigger girth, and are often found taking shelter under kilts! Or so I've heard. *wink*

  11. Ah...but do they have an ocean view? Have seen beef from cattle with an ocean view offered on a menu (in California, of course) Thanks for the chuckle!
