Spring is Sprung

Last Wednesday (4th May) the sun shone and it was warm - the first real combination of those two factors that we had this year.   They say it is Spring when you can put your foot on seven Daisies.

I went for a short walk down a local lane, Marlfield Lane in Pensby, and photographed the wild flowers.

Bluebells

Dandelions and seedheads

Jack-by-the-hedge (Garlic Mustard)

Blackthorn

Gorse

And yet more Daisies

  2. I must take a walk at the beach or in the Lews Castle Grounds and see what I can find there. No Bluebells I can be certain of.

  6. Oh, bluebells! I love them so much, I have only seen them the one time, and it was so wonderful for me, you will have to see me posing with them on my blog forever! Your foot on seven daisies, sounds like I should be able to write a country song with that line.

  7. During the last week here, spring has even sprung into summer. Nature is exploding with colour - and pollen... You can see changes in the trees even from morning to afternoon. Hard to keep up! The forecast is it will chill down a bit again next weekend, though.
